This is a reminder that agencies must complete the POST/MPTC Model Use of Force Policy self-assessment by Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The assessment asks each agency to confirm that its use of force policy is consistent with the Model Policy, pursuant to 555 CMR 6.10(2) and 550 CMR 6.10(2).
Please review the guidance sent directly to chiefs and agency heads by POST and MPTC, which includes the link to the self-assessment form. If your agency has not yet completed it, please make this a priority before the deadline.
